Pension reform: unions organize a “fight meeting” this Monday in front of the Senate

The representatives of the inter-union meet this Monday in front of the Luxembourg Palace with the opponents of the pension reform, on the eve of the start of the examination of the text by the senators.

Eight days before March 7, the battle for pension reform in the Senate is about to begin. On Tuesday, the senators will begin to study the text in commission, before a step in the chamber starting on Thursday. This Monday, on the eve of the start of their work, the unions organize a “fight meeting” in front of the Luxembourg Palace.

“We are going to weigh in on the debates, we will not go it alone, and together, on March 7, we will stop France!” promises the inter-union (CGT, FO, FSU, CFDT, UNSA, CFTC, SUD, CGE-CGC, Unef, MNL, Fidl, Vl and Fage).

“On the occasion of this meeting, employees who work in difficult jobs and who will bear the brunt of two more years of hard work like all employees, will speak out to denounce this bill,” the site of work force.

Outside of Paris, several left-wing elected officials will also be present in Amiens, in Picardy, where a unitary meeting is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Ian Brossat (PCF), Olivier Faure (PS), Marine Tondelier (EELV), Benjamin Lucas (Génération.s) and François Ruffin (LFI) have to take the floor in succession.

Make March 7 “the strongest day”

Throughout the week, many meetings are organized at the initiative of the unions and/or left-wing political parties. The objective is clear: increase the pressure before March 7, the main day of action against the pension reform.

The inter-union wants to “make March 7 the strongest day” since the movement began on January 19, Yvan Ricordeau, CFDT national secretary, said last week during a press conference following a meeting at the headquarters of the CGT in Montreuil (Seine). -Saint-Denis).

“There is a consensus among us to say that the goal is to do better than January 31,” he said.
