CRANE. Enough wants to hear Medina, Pedro Nuno Santos, Alexandra Reis and chairman of CMVM

Chega announced on Wednesday that it would like to hear the Minister of Finance, Fernando Medina, the former governors Pedro Nuno Santos, Alexandra Reis and Hugo Mendes and the chairman of the Securities Market Commission (CMVM) in the TAP Commission of Inquiry. According to information from the party to Lusa, there are 10 names that Chega wants to hear from the parliamentary committee of inquiry into the political oversight of the TAP directorate, which will discuss the documents to be requested this afternoon.

The list includes Finance Minister Fernando Medina, former Infrastructure and Housing Minister Pedro Nuno Santos, and former Infrastructure Secretary Hugo Mendes. Former Finance Secretary Alexandra Reis, whose compensation for TAP’s departure caused all this controversy, is also in Chega’s requests, as is CMVM president Luís Laginha de Sousa.

The ‘chairman’ of TAP, Manuel Beja, the CEO of TAP, Christine Ourmières-Widener and former chairman of the Board of Directors of NAV Manuel Teixeira Rolo are other names that André Ventura’s party wants to mention. Chega also wants to hear from SNPVAC president, Ricardo Penarroias, and SPAC president, Tiago Faria Lopes.

On 3 February, BE’s proposal to establish a committee of inquiry for the political oversight of TAP’s management, with a term of 90 days, was approved in parliament, with PS and PCP abstaining and the rest voting for parties .

The text, approved without votes against, establishes a parliamentary committee of inquiry “into the political oversight of the management of TAP” which will focus, between 2020 and 2022, on the investigation into the entry and exit of former director Alexandra Reis and the responsibilities of custody in the decisions made.

The parliamentary inquiry into TAP is chaired by socialist Jorge Seguro Sanches, who will have PSD deputy Paulo Rios de Oliveira as 1st Vice President and Chega Filipe Melo as 2nd Vice President.
