“We were all in a state of amazement.” Guest of France Info this Monday, Manon Aubry assured that the members of La France insoumise (LFI) “did not have the slightest information” about the domestic violence committed by Adrien Quatennens.
at least before the chained duck revealed last Tuesday that his wife, Céline Quatennens, had filed a complaint in this regard. On Sunday, the rebel deputy from the North acknowledged in a press release that he “slapped him,” specifying that it was an “event dated a year ago.”
While Adrien Quatennens also announced his “retirement from [sa] role of coordinator of the insubordinate France”, Manon Aubry considered that it was a “necessary and unavoidable decision”. And the MEP clarified in this regard:
“It is clear that the consistency in our commitment against sexual and gender-based violence left no room for his continuation at the head of a movement on the one hand, and for his oratory on the other.”
“These are not my words”
A way to congratulate Manon Aubry for the action of her political party which, according to her, “showed that she reacted and left no room for doubt”.
The head of the list of the rebels in the last European elections has, however, distanced himself from the declarations of Jean-Luc Mélenchon.
On Sunday, the LFI leader praised the “courage” and “dignity” of Adrien Quatennens following the publication of his press release. “These are not my words,” replied Manon Aubry. After unleashing a controversy, Jean-Luc Mélenchon clarified in a second tweet that a “slap is unacceptable in any case.”
