Violence against women: for Isabelle Rome, the listening cells of the Nupes “suffocate the words of the victims”

According to the Delegate Minister for Equality between Women and Men, the case of Adrien Quatennens demonstrates “the ineffectiveness of the listening cells installed by Nupes”.

The Delegate Minister for Equality between Women and Men, Isabelle Rome, criticized this Wednesday the listening cells of the New Popular Ecological and Social Union (Nupes) that “drown the words of the victims” after the revelation of accusations of violence against women by left-wing politicians.

For Isabelle Rome, the Quatennens case thus demonstrates “the ineffectiveness of the listening cells created by Nupes”.

“Instead of allowing the victims to go to the police and then take the legal route (…), this cell ultimately constitutes a closed door that stifles the words of the victims instead of freeing them,” said Isabelle Rome.

“Work collectively”

Figure of the young guard of La France insoumise (LFI), deputy Adrien Quatennens acknowledged violent gestures towards his wife. He is under investigation, which follows a railing.

The affair with an effect dominated by the ecologists avec des accusations of “behavior de nature à briser la santé morale des femmes” launched by the EELV deputy Sandrine Rousseau at the meeting of Julien Bayou, co-president of the groupe écologiste à l ‘National Assembly.

The former magistrate, the delegate minister, who called on “all victims to denounce”, considers it necessary to “work collectively” on sexist and sexual violence that “does not skimp on political training”.
