IL requests access to document exchanges between TAP CEO and PS delegates

The Liberal Initiative (IL) asked that on Wednesday access “to all emails and calendar notes” exchanged between the parliamentary group of the PS and the CEO of TAP, Christine Ourmières-Widener before the meeting that took place on January 17 this year (the day before she went to Parliament to explain departure from Alexandra Reis).

The request, addressed to Jorge Seguro Sanches, deputy of the PS and chair of the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry into the management of TAP, is addressed to three specific recipients: the Office of the Deputy Minister and Parliamentary Affairs (Ana Catarina Mendes, Minister of Infrastructure (João Galamba) and the chairman of the PS group (Eurico Brilhante Dias).

In the application, signed by Liberal deputies Carlos Guimarães Pinto and Bernardo Blanco, it is further requested that “the list of everyone involved in this correspondence, and all those who have been summoned and all participants in this meeting be made available”.

At Christine Ournières-Widener’s hearing, which took place Monday, Deputy Bernardo Blanco questioned the still-executive president of the company about this meeting. In response, the official confirmed that the meeting took place on January 17. According to the still CEO of TAP, the meeting was attended by members of the PS, as well as “advisors, deputies and cabinet chiefs” of the ministry led by João Galamba.

Replying to PSD deputy Paulo Moniz, Christine Ournières-Widener identified PSD deputy Carlos Pereira as one of the faces present at that meeting, which she said did not serve to combine answers, but rather to ” answer” the questions put to him.
