The Council of Ministers on Friday approved the creation of the Portuguese Agency for Minorities, Migrations and Asylum, which will replace the Immigration and Borders Service (SEF) as well as the High Commission for Migrations after its abolition.
“The Council of Ministers today approved the creation of the Portuguese Agency for Minorities, Migration and Asylum (APMMA), which will succeed the Immigration and Borders Service (SEF) and the High Commission for Migration in the field of reception and migration,” the minister announced. of the Presidency, Mariana Vieira da Silva.
The Council of Ministers also approved the decree-law that will regulate the transitional regime for SEF employees.
According to Mariana Vieira da Silva, the regime is trying to protect workers’ rights from that extinct security service and ensure “career transitions and salary repositioning”.
