Enough to hear Medina and Vieira da Silva in parliament about woman from Galamba

Chega requested this Wednesday to hear the finance ministers and the presidency, following the news that the wife of minister João Galamba is coordinating a department at the finance ministry without being mentioned in the Diário da República.

The party has issued a request, dated Tuesday, to the parliamentary budget and finance committee asking for an “urgent hearing” of ministers Fernando Medina and Mariana Vieira da Silva.

“Even if there is no appointment, it is important to know the reasons for signing a public interest transfer agreement with Dr. Laura Abreu Cravo, and not with any other person associated with the public board and who could be appointed to those functions, who assigned him coordination functions and under what conditions and why the government has not resorted to appointing him as deputy, as happens in various other situations”supports Chega.

The party also points out that, “even if it were not mandatory to publish in the Diário da República, since no appointment is required, the prior favorable opinion of the members of the government responsible for Finance and Public Administration would always be necessary “.

It is about the news that TVI put forward on Monday that Laura Abreu Cravo, wife of the current Minister of Infrastructure, João Galamba, has been coordinating the Financial Services Department of the Ministry of Finance under the leadership of Fernando Medina for a year, although the appointment is never published in Diário da República.

The issue was raised by members of Chega and PSD on Tuesday at a hearing of the finance minister in parliament.

Medina indicated that Laura Cravo was not mentioned in Diário da República because she works in the Ministry of Finance’s Office of Planning, Strategy, Evaluation and International Relations (GPEARI) under public mobility, as she is a member of the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM), not nominated by the government.

In response to TVI, the Treasury Department had mentioned that Laura Abreu Cravo is a CMVM officer and works at GPEARI under a public interest allocation agreement.
