He arrives at the session with Lula, but promises “hard action”

Chega’s leader indicated on Monday that the party’s deputies will sit in the hemicycle during the session to welcome Brazil’s president to the Assembly of the Republic, but promised they will take “strong action”.

“With us you can count on hard action in the plenary that day. We still don’t know what it is, but we’re going to get that hard action”Andre Ventura said.

Speaking to journalists in Évora, the leader of Chega, upon arrival at the hotel where the party’s parliamentary days will take place until Tuesday, said that the deputies will remain within the hemicycle, unlike, for example, the Liberal initiative, which has already said to are represented only by the parliamentary leader.

“We will be in plenary, that was what Lula da Silva missed to take away my deputy status. I will be there”guaranteed.

André Ventura expected that April 25 “will not be a nice day in parliament”, and insisted “to say that Lula da Silva is coming to Portugal and will be applauded by the deputies is a disgrace”.

“What I have to say will have to wait for that day. If President Augusto Santos Silva disagrees with what I have to say, it is a problem he will have to resolve with the president.”he claimed.

“I conveyed this to Augusto Santos Silva: do not bring Lula da Silva on April 25, it will be a shame for you, for Portugal and for all of us. They insisted on bringing him on April 25, they are inviting us to the embarrassment, the predicament and what we’re going to have”he claimed.

Chega’s leader said he didn’t want to know “what will president Lula da Silva do now, what will the Brazilian embassy do now”.

“As long as it is synonymous with corruption in parliament, it will be synonymous with struggle and struggle without a truce, and that is what we are going to do on April 25″he claimed.

Since one agrees with the arrival of the Brazilian president to Portugal or not, Ventura believed that the left “consistent with herself, saying she’s happy and content and comfortable” with the presence of Lula da Silva.

The right, on the other hand, accused them of being “sissy, really sissy” becauseand “keeps herself in this limbo on the fence”given that this position has “driven the left to win elections”.

Chega’s president reiterated that the party is organizing “a very strong protest on the streets against the presence of Lula da Silva” and that he “got in touch with many Ukrainians in Lisbon who also want to protest”.

“We hope to hold the largest ever demonstration in Lisbon against a foreign dignitary and that the right realizes once and for all that being right is against the left”he stressed.
