This family income support measure consists of the grant of 30 euros per month, paid quarterly. The 90 euros paid today corresponds to the first quarter of this year.
In a statement published Wednesday the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security states that the payment is made by bank transfer “to all households benefiting from the social electricity rate and social minimum benefits, for a total amount of 90 million euros”.
The following payments, “also in the amount of 90 euros, will be made in the months of June, August and November”, refer to the same information, indicating that the households covered by the measure will receive in total for the year military personnel receive a total amount of 360 euros.
In order for the amount to reach families with an eligible profile, it is necessary to register or update the IBAN with Social Security Direct. Those who have not yet taken this step can still do so, with “retroactive payment of support after the relevant update being guaranteed”.
This support is intended for families living in Portugal who are beneficiaries of the Social Electricity Tariff (TSEE), with reference to the month of March 2023, according to the information available on the Social Security website.
“Families that are not beneficiaries of the TSEE are also entitled to this support, but in which at least one of the elements of the household receives one of the minimum social benefits provided or in which one of the children is the holder of a child benefit of scale 1.º or 2.º”, is added in the same communiqué.
