The president of the republic this Tuesday made a “very good” assessment of Brazil’s head of state’s visit to Portugal, as it “could refine the differences” and was beneficial to both countries.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, speaking to RTP as he walked through Calçada da Estrela on his way to the Assembly of the Republic, was asked about his assessment of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s state visit to Portugal, which ends this Tuesday.
“Very good, very, very good. Very good from a human, political, business point of view, which was very important, and even from the point of view of refining existing differences, but refining them in an external political sense. Very good for the two countries”he has answered .
In these brief statements, the President of the Republic was questioned about the solution found by Parliament to allow Lula da Silva to speak on April 25: the Brazilian Head of State will intervene in a welcome session dedicated to the effect, before the start, on April 11 :30, of the traditional formal session of the Carnation Revolution, which he will no longer be attending.
He was “a very skillful way, that is on April 25, but in two consecutive ceremonies. It went very well. I think it was smart, everyone was satisfied”he said.
