Catarina Martins BE defended this Saturday that the Minister of Infrastructure has “very few conditions to remain in government”, accused him of lying about a preliminary meeting with the former CEO of TAP, and criticized the Prime Minister’s silence.
“I just heard the President of the Republic say he wants to see the Prime Minister. I understand that the President of the Republic wants to see the Prime Minister first. What I don’t understand and is inexplicable is that the Prime Minister is not telling the country about this whole thing.”said the BE leader at a press conference at party headquarters in Lisbon.
According to Catherine Martins, “the whole government is vulnerable” and it is urgent that the Prime Minister, António Costa, “speak to the country”, making it clear that “Minister João Galamba has very few conditions to remain in government”.
“We learned that Minister João Galamba lied because he was the one who invited the CEO of TAP to a meeting with the PS party and we have only now found out. That invitation had been declined until recently. He forgot that he had previously met with the CEO of TAP,” he accuses, referring to the minister’s press conference this afternoon.
According to the BE leader, “this is not a unique case” because “Minister João Galamba and Minister Fernando Medina gave a press conference to the country in which they said that there was a valid dismissal of the CEO of TAP whose legal basis they only asked for later “.
“Bloco de Esquerda has already sent a request to the Commission of Inquiry to request all documents and files related to TAP and documents classified by the National Security Office that will be in the service computer of the former assistant to the Minister of Infrastructure,” announced to Catherine Martins.
