PSD asks the PSP and PJ for elements of the Ministry of Infrastructure incidents

The PSD this Thursday requested copies of the files and audio recordings from the Public Security Police on the incidents at the Ministry of Infrastructure on April 26 and the Judicial Police for elements related to former deputy Frederico Pinheiro’s computer.

In the request, addressed to the Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) for the political supervision of the administration of TAP, the Social Democrats state that on the night of April 26, 2023, the PSP was called upon to intervene in the Ministry of Infrastructure (MI) twice.

“The first, with the alleged purpose of safely escorting the employee Frederico Pinheiro to the exit, which was carried from a computer; the second, allegedly to protect the physical integrity of the Chief of Staff and her associates after alleged disdain for Frederico Pinheiro ‘ they point out.

“In view of the contradictory versions of what happened”, the PSD faction requests from the PSP a copy of the (participation) reports of the events that took place on the night of April 26, which the PSP took to the premises of the Ministry of Infrastructure and a copy of the audio recordings of telephone conversations requesting the intervention of the payment service provider.

The PSD requests the judicial police to send a “copy of the report of the said incident” and the “description of the procedures adopted for the preservation of evidence, namely for the preservation of the computer that will be delivered by the judicial police. SIS to the PJ”.

On Wednesday, the CPI to TAP approved the IL’s proposal for the “immediate hearing” of Minister João Galamba, after also deciding to hear the exonerated deputy, Frederico Pinheiro, and the Chief of Staff of the Chief of Infrastructures.

The BE’s request for “documents and/or files classified by the National Security Service, as well as other documents/files related to TAP, stored on the service computer of the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Frederico Pinheiro”, was also unanimously approved.

When she made this request, the blockade deputy Mariana Mortágua explained that “with no dramas” the goal is only one: “to see if there is any information on that computer that could be useful to this investigative committee”.

The case involved allegations against Frederico Pinheiro for physical assault at the Ministry of Infrastructure and the theft of a laptop computer, after it was fired, and the controversy intensified when the Information and Security Service (SIS) intervened in the recovery of that computer was reported.

On Tuesday evening, the Prime Minister, António Costa, refused the resignation of the Minister of Infrastructure, João Galamba, addressed to him half an hour earlier, while the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, issued an official note that same night in which he expressed its disagreement with the decision of the head of government.
