Julien Bayou, accused of psychological violence by a former colleague, should “withdraw” from the national secretariat of the EELV, as he already did from the co-presidency of the environmental group in the Assembly, he judged the former Green president this Sunday. candidate Yannick Jadot.
A former partner of Julien Bayou took over a dedicated cell within EELV. He accuses the party’s current number one of “behavior likely to undermine the moral health of women” according to environmentalist deputy Sandrine Rousseau, who reported having received it.
Suspended from his duties as group co-chair in the Assembly
“For the serenity of the” internal investigation, it would be “good intelligence (…) that we accelerate his retirement from the EELV national secretariat,” said Yannick Jadot, questioned on the subject during the RTL Grand Jury / Le Figaro Program /LCI.
The environmental group’s office in the Assembly had decided on Tuesday to suspend Julien Bayou from his duties as co-president, the day after Sandrine Rousseau gave details about this matter on a television set.
Yannick Jadot, however, regretted the latter’s speech in the media while an internal investigation is carried out. “I am not in favor of these personal positions that harm a process that we all must respect,” he said.
LFI “political error” in the Quatennens case
The former Green presidential candidate also criticized the way LFI had handled the case of Adrien Quatennens, who was withdrawn after admitting to domestic violence.
“There are a certain number of leaders who have played rather masculine solidarity, even virilistic, than protecting women,” he said. In particular, he judged that Jean-Luc Mélenchon had “made a political mistake” in his way of expressing himself on this matter.
But “the issue is not Mélenchon today, the issue is women victims of violence in our society, it is women who do not receive the same skills as men in companies”, she insisted.
