“There is no time for extraordinary binding. To open a tender, there was no time for extraordinary binding,” the head of state told the Portuguese press upon arrival in the French city of Strasbourg, for a dinner with Portuguese MPs and members of the Portuguese diaspora.
“I understood that, with the weighing of the scales, having preferred other solutions in other aspects of the law, what justified the signature was heavier”added Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
The president of the republic on Monday commented on the proclamation of the government’s diploma on the recruitment of teaching staff, so as not to “delay the expectations of about eight thousand teachers”, despite the fact that his proposals on the matter were not accepted .
“It wasn’t because of what I would consider important in terms of binding teachers, but a more important reason arose, that the competition should open this week, and either it was open in light of the previous law and it gave up to 2,000 teachers or the law still came into effect allowing the regime to open the intended number of teachers, under different conditions in some respects, becoming not 2,000, but about 10,000″said Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
Also this Tuesday, the Minister of Education announced that the vacancy regulation for more than 10,000 teachers will be published by the end of the day and that the competition should start on Wednesday, after the publication of the diploma.
