The notice of the resignation of Frederico Pinheiro, assistant to the Minister of Infrastructure, was published this Wednesday, May 10 in the Diário da República (DR).
“Relieved from the functions to which Master Frederico Pinheiro has been appointed, for conduct incompatible with the duties and responsibilities inherent in the exercise of functions as assistant to a ministerial cabinet,” reads the order signed by Minister João Galamba.
The document states that the exemption will take effect from April 26. In this way, the departure of Frederico Pinheiro from the office of the Infrastructure portfolio manager is formalized.
It was on April 26, a Wednesday, that João Galamba exonerated Frederico Pinheiro, but this was not known until two days later, on Friday.
In a statement to the editors, the former deputy accused the official of wanting to omit information to the parliamentary inquiry committee TAP. These are the notes of a preliminary meeting with TAP’s CEO, Christine Ourmières-Widene at the time, on the eve of the manager’s hearing in the parliamentary committee on economics.
The notes will have been recorded on the computer used by the former deputy, who said in a statement that it was clear that “questions were formulated at that January 17 meeting to be asked by the GPPS.” [grupo parlamentar do PS] and the TAP CEO’s responses and communication strategy were mentioned”.
Frederico Pinheiro was accused of taking the computer containing confidential information from the ministry, which led to a criminal complaint filed by the government.
