CRANE. Seguro Sanches leaves the chairmanship of the Commission of Inquiry

According to SIC Notícias, Jorge Seguro Sanches will even step down as chairman of the parliamentary committee of inquiry into TAP.

The Socialist deputy had already threatened to resign from office on Tuesday over differences of opinion with members of the parliamentary committee of inquiry.

“If this is confirmed, it will be yet another attempt by the PS to devalue and hinder the work of the committee,” the PSD said, through the party’s parliamentary leader Joaquim Miranda Sarmento.

According to the news channel, Seguro Sanches made the decision to leave, only missing the timing of the departure with the President of the Assembly of the Republic, Augusto Santos Silva, with whom he will have already met.

The outgoing chairman of the TAP Commission of Inquiry was absent from work during Tuesday’s session, ahead of questioning Humberto Pedrosa, former TAP shareholder, to consider his continuity as head of the Commission of Inquiry.

He asked for a replacement at the time, after a lengthy discussion in which the opposition parties questioned the application of a shorter timetable for the hearing of the airline’s former shareholder, Humberto Pedrosa.

The Socialist deputy said he would not admit that his honor is being questioned.

“The way my role in fulfilling the commission’s mandate has been called into question, in an even inelegant way, makes me question whether I still have the best conditions to do it. This reflection is an urgent reflection to do,” the socialist stressed , before asking the social democrat Paulo Rios de Oliveira to replace him “for the time being” and later to leave the committee of inquiry.

It should be noted that the TAP management inquiry committee is scheduled to expire on May 23, but according to SIC Notícias, this date is definitely in jeopardy.
