João Galamba’s chief of staff this Wednesday rejected any intention to hide meeting notes from TAP’s investigative committee, stating that the minister was unaware of its existence until April 24, contrary to the deputy’s version of the former minister.
During the hearing that will take place this evening at the parliamentary committee of inquiry into TAP, Eugénia Correia will be heard by the deputies, who had questioned this afternoon the deputy, Frederico Pinheiro, acquitted by João Galamba.
During the questions of IL deputy Bernardo Blanco, the question was asked about the notes of a preparatory meeting with the parliamentary group of the PS of the hearing in the economics committee of the former CEO of TAP, Christine Ourmières-Widener, and that Frederico Pinheiro accused João Galamba of trying to hide it from the Commission of Inquiry.
João Galamba’s chief of staff, in a long statement of the facts, contradicted the version of the ex-deputy and assured that at the meeting held after the hearing of the former CEO of TAP – in which he guarantees that João Galamba was not present ” Contrary to what Frederico Pinheiro said, he asked the exonerated deputy “what happened” at that meeting and he replied that he “didn’t remember” and that there were no notes.
“When I heard that there were notes after all, I asked Cátia Rosas to ask about them, but to ask for the computer file in which they were made, because the file would at least allow to verify that they were made on January 17. Frederico Pinheiro does not deliver the computer file, but a piece of paper.” referred.
Eugénia Correia assured that “it was not the intention to hide notes that until April 24” neither she nor João Galamba knew they existed.
The chief of staff also referred to a message from Frederico Pinheiro “in which he said that he always said that he had notes and that there was a decision not to provide the notes to the investigative committee”. Eugénia Correia noted that this message from Frederico Pinheiro came after the one in which she asked him for the numbers, which she considered “even irrational”.
“These are notes that we never intend to hide from the investigative committee,” he reiterated, adding that “it is for those present to verify the veracity of these notes.”
