Galamba’s chief of staff guarantees that it was never the intention to hide banknotes

João Galamba’s chief of staff this Wednesday rejected any intention to hide meeting notes from TAP’s investigative committee, stating that the minister was unaware of its existence until April 24, contrary to the deputy’s version of the former minister.

During the hearing that will take place this evening at the parliamentary committee of inquiry into TAP, Eugénia Correia will be heard by the deputies, who had questioned this afternoon the deputy, Frederico Pinheiro, acquitted by João Galamba.

Eugénia Correia assured that “it was not the intention to hide notes that until April 24” neither she nor João Galamba knew they existed.

The chief of staff also referred to a message from Frederico Pinheiro “in which he said that he always said that he had notes and that there was a decision not to provide the notes to the investigative committee”. Eugénia Correia noted that this message from Frederico Pinheiro came after the one in which she asked him for the numbers, which she considered “even irrational”.

“These are notes that we never intend to hide from the investigative committee,” he reiterated, adding that “it is for those present to verify the veracity of these notes.”
