The interior minister confirmed on Friday that he received a call from the infrastructure minister on April 26 after putting João Galamba in touch with the national director of the PSP.
“What I have to say is very simple. On that day, which the Minister of Infrastructure refers to, he actually contacted me and what I actually did was try to put him in touch with the National Director of the PSP. From there it’s in the archives and it’s in the prosecution,” José Luís Carneiro told journalists, after presiding over an action in Setúbal promoted by the General Inspectorate of Internal Administration (IGAI).
On Thursday, during the hearing at the TAP Commission of Inquiry, João Galamba revealed that on April 26 he called the Interior Minister and asked to speak “very urgently with the PSP” about the “aggression and theft of a computer” at the Ministry of Infrastructure that have been reported to you.
The case is related to the resignation of Frederico Pinheiro, that same evening, and concerns complaints against the former assistant for physical assault at the Ministry of Infrastructure and the alleged theft of a laptop computer, a matter under investigation by the Public Prosecution Service.
