This proves the lack of accountability of delegates, consultants and technicians who are part of the CPI.”
In the afternoon, already in plenary, after the challenge, the apology of the parliamentary leader of the PS, Eurico Brilhante Dias: “Any analysis that I accused the deputies on the right of committing this escape… If that the interpretation, my apologies of course.”
Despite his recantation, Eurico Brilhante Dias assumed he had not read the published report, but remains convinced that the leak came from inside Parliament. According to the deputy, the report released on Thursday “is clear that it was difficult or almost impossible for the information to leave the control room. It has not been proven that a deputy, adviser or employee cooperated in the leaking of information. The statement provoked protest from the opposition.
At the root of the controversy are the words of Eurico Brilhante Dias, on April 28, when he classified the leak of information as a “crime”, which “should be investigated”, and was probably committed by “members of a sovereign state “. body”, something “particularly serious”. The documents – which CNN/TVI and SIC had access to – showed that Christine Ourmières-Widener, former CEO of TAP, will have questions combined with Carlos Pereira, deputy of the PS and member at the time of the CPI. . Then Brilhante Dias classified the event as a “crime”, which “must be investigated”, and was probably committed by “members of a sovereign body”, something “particularly serious”.
As a result of the information leak, the President of the Assembly of the Republic, Augusto Santos Silva, requested the opening of an internal investigation, requested by both Jorge Seguro Sanches (former president of the CPI) and António Lacerda Sales (current). The report was made by Alexandra Leitão, deputy of the PS and former minister, who chairs the Commission for Transparency and the Statute of Deputies.

Opposition leaves criticism
This Wednesday, in Parliament, before the start of the CPI meeting, Hugo Carneiro of the PSD reflected on that the report’s conclusions are “very important” given the allegations made. “They ennoble and elevate our parliament,” he said.
