CRANE. Marcelo clarifies that he has spoken to the Prime Minister, but without mentioning his name

The President of the Republic clarified to Lusa this Wednesday that it was with the Prime Minister that he spoke about the incidents at the Ministry of Infrastructure, without naming him, however, and confirmed news to that effect.

In a note to Lusa, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa referred to his statements this morning about the contacts he had with “a single official entity”, about the intervention of the SIS in the recovery of a computer taken over from the Ministry of Infrastructure , as it is easy to deduce who it was.

The President of the Republic tells Lusa that “since the events and to this day he has only had contacts on the matter he addressed in his communication of May 4 with a single official body – the one who spoke to him on April 29. and who was empowered to propose the exoneration of a member of the government,” in an allusion to the Prime Minister, António Costa.

The head of state indicates that the person with whom he spoke “is the same person who stated on May 24 in the Assembly of the Republic that he spoke with the President of the Republic on April 29 and that he did not address the SIS then” issue”, referring to the prime minister.

Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa adds that “he therefore had no other contact, namely with any other sovereign body or its holder”.
