PSD president Luís Montenegro said on Saturday that he believes the country will be able to “create more opportunities”, create “more wealth” and retain young people, defending that “it is worth to believe in Portugal”.
“I want to confirm what the President of the Republic said, I believe a lot in the future of Portugal. I hope we will be able to create more opportunities, create more wealth and keep our young people,” said Luís Montenegro .
Speaking to journalists, Montenegro refused to speak about the letters exchanged with the Prime Minister, António Costa, and the Minister of Infrastructure, João Galamba, who was booed by the people upon his arrival at the ceremony, saying he only wanted talk about “very important issues” of the country.
“Today I want to say that it is worth believing in Portugal. The country can and must know that the PSD does not give up on Portugal. The leader of the PSD wants to become prime minister, but it is not to fulfill a whim , it is to give more development to the country,” he added.
