In a post accompanied by several photos of himself during the official celebration of the Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities in Peso da Régua, district of Vila Real, António Costa recalled that this year the celebration began “with the Portuguese Communities in South Africa South”.

“Today we are at the cradle of one of our great world emblems, the Alto Douro Vinhateiro, which produces the unique Port,” he adds.
António Costa also writes that “it was wonderful to feel the affection of the people of Peso da Régua, the people of the Douro, on this day that is so ours”, ending: “Long live the Portuguese and the Portuguese. Long live Portugal!”.
Also on his official account on the social network “Twitter”, the President of the Assembly of the Republic, Augusto Santos Silva, published a photo of the celebrations in Peso da Régua, in which he participated, accompanied by a message.
“On June 10, I salute all Portuguese, and with special affection the Portuguese communities abroad. I also salute the Armed Forces, who guarantee national sovereignty and independence,” wrote the state’s second institutional figure and PS deputy chosen by the Fora circle from Europe.

Portugal Day celebrations, from Camões of the Portuguese Communities, end today in Peso da Régua, Vila Real district, after a decentralized celebration with the Portuguese communities in South Africa that brought together the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister.
