Bernardo Silva wants a World Cup or a European Championship with Portugal

“It is one of my big dreams and I hope to come true one day. It is not easy. I dream and I really want to win a World Cup or a European Championship with Portugal. That is what I miss,” said Bernardo Silva in a press conference , minutes before the new training, of the Portuguese national team, which is preparing for Saturday’s game against Bosnia, qualifying for Euro2024.

In the service of Portugal, Bernardo won the 2018-19 League of Nations, after missing the ‘party’ of Euro 2016 due to an injury.

With 55 games in his ‘legs’ for Manchester City, and now with a Champions League in his pocket, the 28-year-old explained that he will arrive at training camp in Portugal in good physical condition, but admitted that this leg, after end of a season is hard for players.

“It wasn’t even one of the hardest seasons. I participated a lot during the games. It’s difficult for some players. I give the example of Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United) who played almost all the games and the 90 minutes. I think that he is tired. It is what it is. It is a last attempt to take six points for Portugal in a very important qualification for us,” said the Benfica-trained midfielder.

During the duel with Bosnia, Bernardo Silva warned about the “very physical” game of the Balkan team and believed that it will be a difficult rival, especially as it is a direct opponent in qualifying for the next European championship.

“It is a very physical team. It will not be easy to get on their defense. We are going to follow the coach’s plan so that it goes well. It is a direct opponent and we want to take these three points from them,” said Bernardo, who has scored 80 games and 10 goals for the national team.

Portugal will host Bosnia and Herzegovina on Saturday, at Estádio da Luz, in Lisbon, at 7:45 PM, and go to Iceland to face the local team three days later, at Estádio Laugardalsvöllur, in Reykjavik, at 7:45 PM ( Lisbon time) ).

The meeting with Bosnia is refereed by Italian Davide Massa.
