Miguel Oliveira falls and loses direct access to the 2nd qualifying phase at the German GP

The Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira (Aprilia) suffered a crash this Friday in the second free practice session of the MotoGP German Grand Prix, seventh race of the season, and missed the direct pass to the second qualifying phase (Q2).

Oliveira crashed at turn 10 of the German Sachsenring circuit, with about 15 minutes to go in the second of the two free practice sessions, ending the day in 15th position.

The rider finished 0.591 seconds behind the fastest on this route, the Italian Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati), who left the Spanish Jorge Martín (Ducati) in second position, just 40 thousandths of a second, with the also Spanish Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia ) in third, in 0.081, despite two fractured bones in his right foot.

For his part, the Portuguese, who is still recovering from a broken left shoulder suffered in the Spanish GP on April 30, had been 15th in the morning session, which still had a few drops of rain, finishing 13th. best time in the afternoon session, marked by several crashes.

The most serious has been that of the Spanish Marc Márquez (Honda) and the Frenchman Johann Zarco (Ducati), who forced the session to be interrupted three minutes from the end.

The two had been the fastest in the morning session.

The Spanish Raúl Fernández (Aprilia), the Japanese Takahaki Nakagami (Honda), the Spanish Maverick Viñales (Aprilia), the Italian Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati) and Alex Márquez (Ducati) were also victims of accidents.

On Saturday the third free practice session and the two qualifying phases will take place, before the sprint race, scheduled for the afternoon.

The German GP is the seventh race of the season.

The Italian Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), who was in fourth place this Friday, reaches the leader of the standings, with 21 points more than Bezzecchi.
