Portugal’s Miguel Oliveira (Aprilia) finished 16th this Saturday in the sprint race of the MotoGP Grand Prix of Germany, the seventh race of the season, won by Spaniard Jorge Martín (Ducati).

Oliveira, who started exactly from 16th, crossed the finish line 13.837 seconds behind Jorge Martin, who won 2.468 seconds ahead of Italian Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), who finished second, and 3.287 seconds ahead of Australian Jack Miller (KTM). ).

Leaving pole position, Bagnaia was the first race leader, while Miguel Oliveira was involved in a mix-up caused by Spaniard Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia) and dropped to 19th position.

Jack Miller increased the pace and jumped to the front of the race, taking advantage of a mistake by Bagnaia, who was unable to brake.

Oliveira meanwhile recovered two places and moved up to 17th place.

Until Jorge Martin attacked under braking on lap three and passed Bagnaia and Miller in one go.

From there, the Madrid driver rocked, breaking the track record and gaining some two seconds ahead of Bagnaia, who also distinguished himself from Miller.

Miguel Oliveira would still rise to 16th, with Spaniard Maverick Viñales (Aprilia) withdrawing by the fall.

With these results, Bagnaia, the defending champion and championship leader, maintained a 21-point lead over second place, who is now Jorge Martin.

Italian Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati) dropped to third, now with 113, while Miguel Oliveira is 17th with 21.

The main race of the weekend takes place on Sunday.
