Spain won the third edition of the Nations League in football this Sunday, succeeding Portugal (2019) and France (2021), by beating Croatia 5-4 in the final on penalties, after 120 goalless minutes.
In Rotterdam, in a goalless game in regulation time and extra time, the goalkeeper Unai Simón was the ‘hero’ of the Spanish, stopping shots from Majer and Petkovic, while the ‘red’ only missed one, from Laporte, that he shot to the crossbar.
The ‘red’, who had been defeated finalist in 2021 (1-2 with France), adds to the League of Nations a victory in the World Cup (2010) and three in the Eurocup (1964, 2008 and 2012).
