Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira (Aprilia) says he is “up for the challenge” at MotoGP’s Dutch Grand Prix, the eighth race of the season, taking place this weekend at Assen, a circuit considered the cathedral of the motorcycling.
“It was a good incentive for me and the team to finish the German GP [do passado fim de semana] among the top 10 [foi 10.º] and be the best Aprilia”, emphasized Miguel Oliveira in statements from the RNF team.
Born in Almada, the Portuguese driver says he wants to “use these days to rest and recover” from the fracture in his left shoulder suffered on April 30 at the Spanish GP.
“But enough [a prova de] Shafts. I think we are ready for the challenge and to improve a little bit more,” said Miguel Oliveira.
The Portuguese recalls that this is “normally one of the most physically demanding circuits”, but guarantees that he will be “done”.
Italy’s Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), title champion, comes in as leader of the championship with 160 points.
Miguel Oliveira, who has already missed the tests in Argentina and France due to injury, is 16th with 27.
