Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira (Aprilia) exited this Sunday’s MotoGP Grand Prix of the Netherlands, the eighth race of the season, and entered the pits 14 laps from the end of the race.
Miguel Oliveira had started 11th but recovered five places in the race to end up in sixth place at the end of the first lap.
The Portuguese driver then dropped back to seventh on lap three when he was overtaken by Spaniard Jorge Martin (Ducati).
However, when the brakes failed, Miguel Oliveira went up the breakaway route to 10th.
The Portuguese rider would eventually enter the pits of his team, RNF Aprilia, when 14 of the 26 laps were scheduled for this race.
The race was won by Italian Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), who completed the 26 laps around the Assen circuit in 40,08,519 minutes, leaving second place, compatriot Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati) at 1.242 seconds, with Spaniard Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia) third, at 1.925 seconds, after a penalty awarded to South African Brad Binder (KTM)? for exceeding the runway limits.
With these results, Bagnaia strengthens the championship lead, now with 194 points, 35 more than runner-up, Spaniard Jorge Martin (Ducati), who finished fifth today.
