Alcaraz, the current number two in the world, defeated the number 18 in the hierarchy with a double 6-4, on the grass of the Queen’s Club, in an encounter that lasted one hour and 36 minutes.

With the victory in London, Alcaraz already knows that he will rise to the top of the world rankings on Monday and thus dethrone the Serbian Novak Djokovic.

“It’s incredible to live this experience in front of my whole family and my team. It means a lot to have my name on this trophy. I’ve been watching this tournament since I’ve been watching tennis. It was very special to be here playing, many legends have won here. To see my name on the trophy, one of the best, is incredible,” said the Spaniard after the triumph.
