Arsenal, runners-up in the English Football League, confirmed the signing of German forward Kai Havertz, from Chelsea, for £65m, around €73m.
This is the gunners’ first signing of the season, while everything also points to the deal surrounding Declan Rice’s pass, which will see the Londoners pay West Ham €120 million, to be finalized in the coming days.
Havertz moves after three seasons at Chelsea, having previously enjoyed success at Bayer Leverkusen. For the ‘blues’ he scored 32 goals in 139 games, with his moment of glory in the ‘Champions’ final, where he scored the goal that beat Manchester City two years ago.
In Arsenal’s attack, a surprising second last season after weeks in charge, he is joined by Gabriel Jesús, Bukayo Saka, Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.
The new reinforcement of Mikel Arteta’s selection signs for five seasons, until 2028.
