Brazilian international midfielder Arthur Melo will play for Liverpool until the end of the season, on loan from Juventus, the English league club said on Thursday.
“We are pleased to confirm the signing of Arthur Melo on loan from Juventus for the remainder of the 2022/23 season, subject to international clearance,” the Reds said on social media.
The 26-year-old midfielder played a total of 63 games in two seasons with Juve, Benfica’s rival in the Champions League, and considered that signing for Liverpool was the “right option”.
“I’m very, very happy to be here, to wear this great shirt, with this famous emblem that represents so much in world football. It’s a dream. We talked a lot and our ideas and visions meshed well, so I’m sure it was the right choice,” the ‘canarian’ international said on 22 occasions, quoted by the Merseyside club.
In the ‘reds’, Arthur Melo will be a teammate of the Portuguese Fábio Carvalho and Diogo Jota.
