Arsenal, runner-up in the English soccer league, today confirmed the signing of German striker Kai Havertz, from Chelsea, for 65 million pounds, about 73 million euros.
This is the first signing of the season for the ‘Gunners’, when everything also indicates that the deal for Declan Rice’s pass will be closed in the coming days, with the Londoners having to pay 120 million euros to West Ham.
Havertz moves after three seasons at Chelsea, having found success at Bayer Leverkusen. For the ‘blues’ he scored 32 goals in 139 games, with his moment of glory in the ‘Champions’ final, in which he scored the goal that defeated Manchester City two years ago.
In Arsenal’s attack, a surprising second last season after weeks in the lead, he will be joined by Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka, Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.
The new reinforcement of Mikel Arteta’s squad signs for five seasons, until 2028.
