The Portuguese goalkeeper Beto announced this Friday, at the age of 41, the end of his football career after 33 years of “full realization” on the pitch.
In a message posted on social media, António Alberto Pimparel -known only as Beto- thanks the clubs he has represented throughout his career, the most recent of which is HIFK, from Helsinki.
“Casa Pia, Leixões SC, GF Chaves, FC Marco, SC Farense, FC Porto, Sporting CP, SC Braga, THANK YOU. Sevilla FC, THANK YOU. Göztepe SC, TESEKKÜR. CFR Cluj, MULTUMESC. HIFK Helsinki, KIITOS. Portugal Selection Soccer, THANK YOU”, it read.
International “A” on 16 occasions, he also represented Portugal in youth categories, between sub-15 and sub-21, having won the League of Nations with the national team in 2018.
Winner of the Europa League on four occasions -once with FC Porto and three times with Spanish Sevilla FC-, he also won three Cândido de Oliveira Super Cups, two Portuguese Cups, one Portuguese League, one League Cup, one Second League of Portugal and a Romanian Portuguese league.
