“He will be a goalscorer.” On the way to FC Porto, Gil Vicente confirms the departure of Fran Navarro

Gil Vicente’s new coach, Vítor Campelos, has confirmed the departure of striker Fran Navarro this Friday. The Spaniard will make a short trip to Dragão, where he will represent FC Porto.

“As is public knowledge, some players have already left. Tomás Araújo, [Adrián] Marin, Vitor Carvalho, Fran Navarro, Aburjania. There are some players who have left, but surely the structure is working to be able to bring in players who can, in some way, replace these departures”, said the Portuguese coach at the presentation at the Barcelos club.

As the TSF Advance in March, Fran Navarro will be under the command of Sérgio Conceição next season. Ricardo Soares, the coach who launched the forward in Gil Vicente, believes that success will be quick.

“I have no doubts that he is a very important player. He will bring a set of skills to FC Porto, naturally he will assert himself and be a top scorer. He is a player who has the kind of characteristics that fit perfectly in a big club”, considers the now coach of Beijing Guoan, of China, in statements to TSF.

And what are these valences? “He is a very strong player under pressure. He still needs to improve a bit in finishing, because he always has a lot of chances per game thanks to his intelligence and ability to move, both outside the box and mainly inside the box. “He does it so naturally and efficiently that he is constantly creating scoring situations. At a club like FC Porto, instead of having five or six scoring chances per game, he will have more. I have no doubt that he is an asset to a great club, be it FC Porto or any other”.

Ricardo Soares recalls the Spanish striker’s first steps in the Portuguese league and talks about his meteoric rise.

“I do not hide that his evolution was such that even I was surprised. That is mainly the player’s credit. He deserves it all. He is a player who is clearly prepared to take a leap and be important wherever he goes”, he says. . .

Fran Navarro has been wearing the rooster shield for the last two seasons. In Barcelos, the Spanish striker scored 37 goals and gave three assists in 78 games. Before, Fran Navarro had played 97 games and 27 goals with Valencia B. He also had a stint with Lokeren, in Belgium, on loan that did not go so well: two goals in 14 games.
