The Portuguese women’s soccer team drew 0-0 this Saturday in the visit to the European champion England, in a preparation match between the two teams for the World Cup, played in Milton Keynes.
In the first of two preparation matches for their unprecedented participation in a World Cup, Portugal managed to sustain the momentum of fourth place in the FIFA ranking and one of the candidates for the fight for the world title.
The duel with the English ended with a ‘scare’, given the injury suffered by Kika Nazareth at the start of the second half, which forced her to be substituted.
Next Friday, the team faces Ukraine, at the Estádio do Bessa, in Porto, in the last preparation game before leaving for New Zealand, scheduled for July 11.
Portugal is part of Group E of the 2023 World Cup, in which it will face the Netherlands (July 23), finalists of the last edition, Vietnam (July 27) and the United States (August 1), defending champions.
The World Championship will take place in New Zealand and Australia, between July 20 and August 20.
