Rio Ave, from the Portuguese Football League, announced this Saturday that Alexandrina Cruz was elected the new president of the Vila-Condense club, after an electoral act that exceeded the adhesion of the last vote, in 2020.
The single candidate obtained 1,006 votes, out of a total of 1,077 deputies who participated in the election, with 60 blank votes and 11 null votes.
In the last election, three years ago, when António Silva Campos was elected for a final term, 665 members participated, and the club has close to four thousand contributing members.
Alexandrina Cruz, 46, is from Junqueira, Vila do Conde, has a degree in administration and was already vice president of the financial area, with 19 years at Rio Ave.
Cruz is the first woman to chair a professional soccer club in Portugal.
