The Portuguese men’s Olympic team won the bronze medal this Sunday at the Krakow 2023 European Games, with João Paulo Azevedo, Armelim Rodrigues and José Bruno Faria completing the 16th podium of the mission in Poland.
After third place in the standings, the Portuguese trio beat the Italians Mauro de Filippis, Daniele Resca and Giovanni Pellielo in the men’s team bronze match, the best result of the modality in the European Games.
In the last competition with the Portuguese in Krakow 2023, which ends today, Azevedo, Rodrigues and Faria achieved in Wroclaw, almost 300 kilometers from Krakow, the 16th ‘metal’ for Portugal, three golds, seven silvers and six bronzes, beating the 15 of Minsk 2019 to make this the most successful edition for the country.
The third edition of the European Games ends today in Krakow and in the Polish region of Malopolska, with 30 sports on the program and 48 participating countries, including Portugal, which has a delegation of more than two hundred athletes.
