This Sunday Portugal was eliminated from the Euro sub-21, after losing 1-0 against England. The only goal of the game was scored in the first half by Anthony Gordon.
The elimination in the Eurocopa also dictates that the Portuguese team will not participate in the soccer tournament of the Olympic Games that will be held in Paris in a year.
The English team was better during the first part, although the first great opportunity came from the feet of Pedro Neto. England consummated the superiority in the 34th minute, with Anthony Gordon completing a great collective move.
Portugal started better in the second half and took over operations. However, the goal persisted in not appearing, with Henrique Araújo heading to the post in the best bet of the team from the corners.
Portugal falls in the quarterfinals of the Euro under-21, after being runner-up in 2021.
