Borussia Dortmund today confirmed the signing of German international footballer Felix Nmecha, who played for Wolfsburg, despite many club fans criticizing his arrival over homophobic posts by the player on social networks.
In a statement on its official website, Borussia announced the transfer of the 22-year-old midfielder, explaining that the contract, which runs until June 2028, was signed after a long talk between club officials and the player.
“We know that the impending transfer has attracted criticism from publications on the internet in recent days. It was important for us to talk intensively with the player about his beliefs and values. He assured us that he has no transphobic or homophobic ideas and stressed that he respects and loves all people, regardless of skin color, religion or sexual orientation”said President Reinhold Lunow.

According to the local press, the German runners-up (they failed to win the Bundesliga in the last round) will have paid 30 million euros for hiring the attacking midfielder.
