The Belgian Jasper Philipsen won the fourth stage of the Tour de France on Tuesday, which took place between Dax and Nogaro, over a distance of 181.8 kilometers. In a bumpy finale marked by several crashes, Philipsen crossed the finish line in 4:25.28 hours ahead of Australia’s Caleb Ewan (Lotto Dstny) and Germany’s Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain Victorious), second and third respectively. Adam Yates finished the stage in the group of winners, keeping the gap of six seconds ahead of the closest pursuers in the general classification, namely his teammate Tadej Pogacar and his twin brother Simon Yates (Jayco AlUla).

Although the peloton crossed the finish line in pieces, the organization awarded almost all riders the same time, including Portugal’s Rúben Guerreiro and Nélson Oliveira (Movistar), who are respectively in 50th place, at 12.17 minutes, and in 65th place, respectively. at 4:51 p.m. In turn, Rui Costa (Intermarché-Circus-Wanty) lost 2.12 minutes to drop to 76th overall, 18.45 behind the yellow jersey.

The fifth stage, which hits the road this Wednesday, links Pau and Laruns (162.7km) and includes a special category and first class mountain count.
