The Portuguese men’s handball coach, Paulo Jorge Pereira, responsible for six consecutive qualifications in Portugal for the main international competitions, the last of which was Euro 2024, renewed this agreement with the federation until 2025.
Paulo Jorge Pereira, 58, took over as national coach in 2016 and under his command the corner team achieved the best results in history, including the unprecedented qualification for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (played in 2021).
Under the command of Paulo Pereira, the Portuguese team achieved consecutive qualification in six international competitions and obtained the best classification in the European Championship (sixth place in 2020) and the World Championship (tenth in 2021).
