Danish cyclist Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) took the lead in the Tour de France this Thursday after finishing second in stage six, conquered by Slovenian Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates) at the top of Cauterets-Cambasque.
In a stage, with passages over Aspin and Tourmalet, in which the Portuguese Ruben Guerreiro (Movistar) finished fourth, the winner of the 2020 and 2021 editions of the Tour was the best over the 144.9 kilometers between Tarbes and the first category Cauterets- Cambasque, who forced himself in 03:54.27 and relegated the title champion to second place, 24 seconds away. The Norwegian Tobias Johannessen (Uno-X) came in third, at 01.22 minutes.
Overall, Vingegaard is the new first, 25 seconds ahead of Pogacar, while previous yellow jersey Australian Jai Hindley (BORA-hansgrohe) drops to third by 01.34 minutes.
On Friday, sprinters will have another chance in the 110th Tour de France, over the 169.9 kilometers between Mont-de-Marsan and Bordeaux.
