This Thursday, the Portuguese soccer team was very close to securing qualification for the semifinals of the European Under-19 Championship, in Malta, by beating Italy 5-1 on the second day of Group A.
Italy took the lead in the sixth minute, through Luca Lipani, who would be sent off (44), against Rodrigo Ribeiro (35), Gustavo Sá (57), Gabriel Brás (68), Hugo Félix (88) and João Vasconcelos (90 +1) gave victory to the ‘quinas’ team.
With the second victory, Portugal now has six points, three more than Italy, and can guarantee qualification to the semifinals at the end of this Thursday if Poland scores against Malta, in a match between the two teams defeated in the first round.
