Edwin Van der Sar suffered a brain hemorrhage while on vacation on an island in Croatia. The former goalkeeper is admitted to a local hospital.
Ajax said in a statement that the former Dutch international is stable. The Amsterdam club guarantees that future updates will be made when there is more information about Van der Sar’s health.
The former goalkeeper resigned as Ajax’s general manager at the end of last season, with the justification that he was “exhausted”.
Edwin Van der Sar held this position for ten years. Before as a player he was a goalkeeper for Noordwijk, Ajax, Juventus, Fulham and Manchester United.
