The reading of the sentence of the Football Leaks trial, in which Rui Pinto is the main defendant, was postponed by the judge’s order, which justifies the decision with the amnesty proposal for the arrival of the Pope.
The decision of the Central Criminal Court of Lisbon was scheduled for Thursday and can now take place on the 31st, if the bill enters into force on the 28th, or only on September 11, according to the order to which Lusa had access today. .
Rui Pinto, 34, is responsible for a total of 90 crimes: 68 for improper access, 14 for violation of correspondence, six for illegitimate access, directed at entities such as Sporting, Doyen, the PLMJ law firm, the Portuguese Federation de Fútbol (FPF) and the Attorney General’s Office (PGR), and also for computer sabotage of Sporting’s SAD and for extortion, in the form of an attempt. This last crime concerns Doyen and was the one that also motivated the pronunciation of the lawyer Aníbal Pinto.
The Government bill provides for amnesty for “infractions committed until 00:00 on June 19, 2023, by people between 16 and 30 years of age on the date of the commission of the act.”
