This Thursday, the Portuguese under-19 men’s team secured a place in the Eurocup soccer final after beating Norway 5-0 in Paola, Malta.
Portugal took the lead after four minutes, through Gustavo Sá, who took advantage of an error by the opposing goalkeeper.
At 17′, captain Hugo Félix made it 2-0 from the penalty spot and, at 31′, Rodrigo Ribeiro scored the third for the team.
The striker scored twice at minute 66, with a header from Samuel Justo’s cross and, at minute 69, assisted Carlos Borges for the final 5-0.
The team led by Joaquim Milheiro is now waiting to find out who will play in the final on Sunday: Spain or Italy are the possible rivals.
Portugal won the European Under-19 Championship in 2018 and was a beaten finalist on four occasions: 2003, 2014, 2017 and 2019.
