The Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, leader of the world ranking, qualified this Friday for the first time for the Wimbledon final, the third Grand Slam of the season, by beating the Russian Daniil Medvedev, facing the Serbian Novak Djokovic in the decisive match.
Alcaraz, 20, surpassed the number three in the world hierarchy in just three sets, by partials of 6-3, 6-3 and 6-3, in a match that lasted one hour and 52 minutes on London grass.
The Spanish tennis player, who won a Grand Slam in his career, the US Open in 2022, will face Novak Djokovic, number two in the world, who holds the record with 23 Grand Slam tournaments won and has already won Wimbledon in seven occasions (2011, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022).
