The Dutch cyclist Wout Poels (Bahrain Victorious) achieved this Sunday, at the top of Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc, his first victory in the Tour de France, in a 15th stage in which Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) maintained the differences for Tadej Pogacar (United Arab Emirates).
Poels, 35, took part in the many trails of the day and isolated himself from his fellow travelers to crown the summit of Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc, solo, at the end of the 179 kilometers from Les Gets, in 04:40.45 hours. The Belgian Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) was second, 02.08 minutes behind and the French Mathieu Burgaudeau (TotalEnergies) third, three minutes behind the winner.
Vingegaard and Pogacar reached the finish line side by side and the yellow jersey still has a 10-second advantage over the Slovenian, with the Spanish Carlos Rodríguez (INEOS) third still 05.21 minutes behind the Dane of Jumbo-Visma.
The peloton completes the second rest day of the 110 Tour de France this Monday, returning to the road this Tuesday, to face the only time trial of this edition, of just 22.4 kilometers between Passy and Combloux.
