Portugal lost this Sunday against Italy (1-0) in the final of the European Under-19 Championship and failed to win the second title in the category.
The only goal of the match was scored by Michael Kayode in the 18th minute of the match, at a time when Italy was in command of match operations.
Portugal tried to respond, but it was only in the second half that they managed to have the ball and threaten the transalpine goal more frequently. The best opportunity came from the head of Martim Fernandes, entered during the match, for the defense of the Italian goalkeeper.
Portugal thus fails to win the Under-19 Euro Cup for the second time in history, after having won the competition in 2018, curiously against Italy.
