The Austrian cyclist Felix Gall won the 17th stage of the Tour de France this Wednesday, but the day belongs to Jonas Vingegaard who practically sealed the victory in the Tour.
The Danish cyclist was third in the stage and took advantage of Pogacar’s misfortune to gain several minutes from the Slovenian who fell at the beginning of the route. The yellow jersey came 1.52 minutes after Felix Gall, but Pogacar only crossed the line 7.37 minutes after the stage winner.
On the main climb of the day, the Col de la Loze, the Slovenian fell out of the main group and said he couldn’t take it anymore. “I left. I am dead,” said Tadej Pogacar in a statement with the team car transmitted by the organization of the race.

Thus, the difference between the first and the second overall, which after the time trial was 1.48 minutes, became 7.35.
Another of the winners of the day was Simon Yates. The Briton was second on the stage and jumped three positions to fifth.
